Binance says 2025 illicit crypto recovery rate 11 percent, 55 times higher than traditional assets
About 11 percent of illicit cryptocurrency transaction volume in 2025 was seized or frozen through cooperation between law enforcement agencies and private-sector groups, Binance Research said. Binance said the recovery rate was about 55 times higher than that for traditional financial assets. The report cited cases involving Tether, Interpol and the T3 Financial Crime Unit. Analysts including Chainalysis and TRM Labs questioned Binance’s figures, citing excluded categories such as hacks and ransomware.

KB Kookmin Bank to handle National Police Agency foreign exchange stabilisation fund remittances
KB Kookmin Bank said on April 9 it will carry out overseas remittance work based on the Foreign Exchange Stabilisation Fund executed by the National Police Agency, expanding its public-sector foreign exchange business. The policy fund requires strict verification and management procedures. The bank said stable processing of state payments, including Interpol-related funds, depends on financial infrastructure and internal controls. It plans to broaden operating experience and strengthen capabilities for policy fund remittances.

South Korea finalises 2026 narcotics control plan covering crackdown and rehabilitation
South Korea has approved its 2026 narcotics control implementation plan, combining tougher crime enforcement with expanded rehabilitation and prevention. The plan sets four strategies and 90 tasks, including twice-yearly joint crackdowns at airports, ports and entertainment venues, dedicated teams to block online distribution, and AI-based detection R&D. It also expands counselling and treatment, boosts campaigns and education, strengthens international cooperation, and rolls out secondary inspections of international mail nationwide.
