Europe EV market share hits record high as China steps up electric truck push
Europe\'s electric vehicle market hit a record share in May as consumers shifted away from internal combustion cars amid expanded government support and rising fuel costs. Battery electric vehicle registrations in 17 major markets rose 34.4% from a year earlier to 212,387, lifting market share to 23.6%. China’s automakers are expanding beyond passenger EVs into electric trucks, supported by government targets and infrastructure plans, while Europe’s electric-truck market remains small.
