Nvidia seeks to expand capacity with Asian partners in chip supply chain
Nvidia said on Oct. 28 it will work with Amkor Technology, Ibiden, KYEC, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, SPIL and Unimicron Technology to expand production capacity for substrates, advanced packaging, testing and optical engines. The company aims to prevent component bottlenecks from surging AI infrastructure demand by supporting manufacturing expansion at new and existing suppliers. Plans include multi-year capacity increases, new facilities and expanded operations across Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the United States and Singapore.
