Microsoft president says AI regulation looser than for milk or washing machines
Microsoft President Brad Smith criticised what he called a regulatory gap for artificial intelligence, saying AI faces looser oversight than products such as milk or washing machines despite risks that it could be used to hack companies and governments. His remarks came as U.S. AI companies and the government differ on regulation. Smith said the gap could be an opportunity for Britain and linked AI model risks to cybersecurity.
