Hana Financial to lead 4 trillion won PF for Jamsil sports, MICE development
Hana Financial Group is pushing ahead with 4 trillion won in project financing to build a Jamsil sports and MICE complex by combining the investment banking capabilities of Hana Securities and Hana Bank. The group said the two units will serve as lead and joint financial arrangers for the private investment project. Seoul and Seoul Smart MICE Park signed an implementation agreement on July 28 to move the project forward.

HNIX, Heroes of the Era to work on commercialisation of on-premise AI development platform
IT services company HNIX said it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Heroes of the Era (WYHIL) to jointly commercialise an on-premise AI work and development platform called crux:PLATFORM. HNIX will lead new business development and sales to major clients, including Hyundai-affiliated groups and financial groups, and handle solution planning and joint project development. WYHIL will support technical validation, proposals, demos, briefings, upgrades and technical support.

ELS fines cut to 600 billion won after local elections, financial policy in focus
With the June 3 local elections over, attention in South Korea’s financial sector is shifting back to financial authorities and the National Assembly. Issues that lost traction during the campaign, including governance reform at financial holding firms, digital asset regulation, loan rules for non-resident single-homeowners and a compensation liability system for voice phishing, may return to the agenda in the second half. Regulators have also adjusted ELS sanctions and stepped up work on consumer protection and AI security threats.
