NIA conducts South Korea\'s first on-site trial of 5G AI-RAN and physical AI
The National Information Society Agency will conduct an on-site trial that combines AI computing functions at telecom base stations with industrial robots. NIA said it has launched a project to deploy and verify integration technology for AI-RAN and physical AI services at industrial sites under a Ministry of Science and ICT programme. The trial, based on a dedicated 5G network, will take place at Hyundai Steel’s Dangjin hot rolling plant and will include multi-robot cooperative control.

LG Electronics signs deal to build used refrigerant recycling, refurbished product system
LG Electronics will recover and recycle used refrigerants generated from home appliances and move ahead with a pilot for its refurbished products business. The company said it signed an agreement in Seoul with the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment and the Korea Environment Corporation, among others. LG Electronics plans to raise annual refrigerant recovery to 81 tonnes by 2030 and use purified recycled refrigerant for new products and after-sales service.

KT begins board overhaul, scale of outside director reshuffle in focus
KT has begun discussions on appointing new outside directors ahead of a regular shareholders meeting by the end of March to approve Park Yun-young (박윤영) as CEO and vote on director appointments. Three outside directors’ terms expire in March, and one seat is vacant, leaving four to fill. Attention is focused on the scale of changes and the stance of the National Pension Service, which recently shifted its investment purpose in KT to general investment.
