DTCC begins live securities tokenisation trading with 40 firms including JPMorgan
U.S. securities settlement group DTCC has started operating a securities tokenisation service in live markets, covering assets including Microsoft shares and U.S. Treasuries. DTCC plans a July pilot limited to about 1,000 instruments before expanding to full availability around October. The service, developed by its depository DTC, lets participants use tokenised assets for collateral transfers, repo transactions and stock trades, with settlement on either Hyperledger Besu or the Canton Network.

XRP camp says SWIFT cannot copy Ripple technology and will have to integrate
A claim has emerged that Ripple’s patents and trade secrets make it difficult for competitors to directly imitate its technology in the cross-border payments market. XRP community researcher SMQKE cited a 2025 fintech intellectual property study, saying Ripple’s patented technology and payment network could limit similar systems. The report also highlighted the role of trade secrets. It added there is no confirmed move by SWIFT to copy Ripple, and that SWIFT is building its own blockchain-based system focused on interoperability.

Wemade unveils Stablenet with single-coin gas fees, 3,000 TPS and 1-second finality
Wemade has unveiled technical specifications for its in-house layer-1 mainnet, Stablenet, saying it aims to address complex blockchain user experience, gas-fee burdens and privacy issues. The company said Stablenet uses a WBFT consensus algorithm based on Hyperledger Besu to deliver 3,000 transactions per second and 1-second block finality. It also introduced a native stablecoin used for fees, emergency controls, and a transfer-server-based “secret account” model, with a dedicated wallet due in February.
