MSIT to launch pilots for 12 services combining AI and digital twins
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT will begin piloting 12 innovative services that combine artificial intelligence with digital twins, extended reality and other virtual convergence technologies, starting this month. The projects span safety, industry and everyday-life applications under two programmes focused on AI-based safety management and fostering virtual convergence industries. The ministry plans demonstrations ranging from disease prevention and gas-leak detection to port and shipyard control systems and tourism and hospital guidance services.

MSIT, health ministry push to shift public healthcare to AI-SaaS
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency said they will accept applications through May 22 for a project to support shifting public hospital information systems to AI cloud services. The project aims to replace aging, individually built systems with private AI-based software-as-a-service. The government targets converting systems at the National Medical Center and Seoul Medical Center by 2027 and expanding to 35 local medical centers.

Xlog completes off-site disaster recovery system for National Forensic Psychiatric Hospital HIS
Xlog, a company specialising in real-time data replication and migration, said on Jan. 14 it has supplied and completed deployment of its X-LOG for CDC solution for an off-site disaster recovery system for the National Forensic Psychiatric Hospital’s integrated hospital information system. The hospital, affiliated with the Ministry of Justice, conducts custody, care and treatment of those subject to treatment and custody orders, as well as related research.
