KAIST develops cap-like OLED to prevent hair loss
KAIST has developed an OLED-based wearable phototherapy device for hair loss that can be worn like a cap. The team applied a special OLED light source to a flexible, textile-like platform to provide non-invasive treatment. Unlike rigid, helmet-type devices using LED or laser point sources, the cap integrates a near-infrared surface-emitting OLED to deliver uniform light across the scalp. Researchers designed the OLED to emit selectively in the 730 to 740 nm band.
