Naver, Kakao unions call for group-wide collective bargaining, urge rule changes

Kakao\'s labour union said on June 1 it will stage a four-hour partial strike and hold a rally in Pangyo on June 10. The union said its key demands are securing employment stability and improving the compensation system. Kakao responds to union strike warning, says demands would be major management burden
Kakao on Thursday expressed regret over its labour union’s warning of a strike in June, saying the union’s requested performance compensation would be difficult to accept in practical terms. It said the overall scale of the proposal would be a major burden on management when measured against operating profit. Kakao also said it would maintain service stability in any situation and keep dialogue open to avoid impacts on shareholders, partners and other stakeholders.
