Korea Post to roll out Local Love Card in Gumi, Gwangyang and Gongju

The Ministry of Science and ICT’s Korea Post said on Oct. 12 it will sequentially introduce local gift cards in Gumi, Gwangyang and Gongju to improve residents’ access to financial services and revitalise local commercial districts. The rollout is scheduled for Oct. 12 in Gumi, Oct. 13 in Gwangyang and Oct. 26 in Gongju. Users can apply via Korea Post Savings channels and several apps, or visit a post office for assistance.

POSCO Future M restores biodiversity at Naengcheon stream in Pohang

POSCO Future M carried out employee volunteer work on April 22 to help restore the ecosystem of Naengcheon stream in Pohang. About 40 employees and family members made seed balls by mixing loess and seeds and threw them across the area, which is being restored after typhoon damage in 2022. The activity was part of the company’s “Future M Nature Guard Day” programme aimed at biodiversity restoration and environmental clean-up.

Korea Post says aluminium cans reborn as steel through post office network

Aluminium cans collected in South Jeolla Province will be gathered through the post office network and recycled into carbon-reducing steel, Korea Post said. The Ministry of Science and ICT’s Postal Service signed a business agreement on April 21 in Gwangyang with POSCO M-TECH and the Jeollanam-do Volunteer Center to improve resource circulation. The programme will begin in earnest in May, with cans converted into deoxidiser for steel production.
