Solana Foundation unveils institutional Solana DvP to cut securities settlement from 1 to 2 days to seconds

The Solana Foundation has launched an open-source settlement program for financial institutions called Solana DvP. The program supports Solana-based delivery-versus-payment, processing asset transfers and cash settlement in a single transaction with the aim of cutting securities settlement time from 1 to 2 days to a few seconds. It is offered as an open-source API, allowing institutions to reuse the structure without building custom smart contracts.

Bitcoin, crypto stocks rebound after Clarity bill setback

Bitcoin regained the $80,000 level on Sept. 19, rising about 5 percent in 24 hours and briefly reaching $81,034 on Bitstamp, data showed. The move reversed a slump after the U.S. Senate failed to pass the Clarity bill on Sept. 15. Investor sentiment improved after the CFTC and SEC took crypto-related steps using existing authority. Crypto-linked stocks jumped on Sept. 18, while short liquidations rose as U.S. Treasury yields climbed.

AWS still unable to restore Bahrain, UAE facilities six months after Iran drone strikes

Amazon Web Services said it has not been able to restore services and data access at parts of its cloud facilities in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates damaged by drone strikes early in the Iran war. AWS said damage at several Bahrain facilities exceeded what its services were designed to withstand and that resources and data stored only in the region cannot be recovered. In the UAE, one of three availability zones also remains unrecoverable.
