MariaDB acquires in-memory firm GridGain to expand agentic AI capabilities
MariaDB is set to acquire GridGain Systems, the company behind the open-source Apache Ignite, Techzine reported. MariaDB aims to combine its relational database with GridGain\'s in-memory technology to deliver under 1 millisecond data processing for agentic AI applications. The company said agentic AI systems are creating new data infrastructure challenges and that disk-based architectures have limits for real-time access to large datasets.
