Waymo pioneer Sebastian Thrun launches robotics startup Dulo to design hardware with AI
Sebastian Thrun, an early key figure in Google’s self-driving car project and Waymo, is working on a new robotics startup called Dulo. He mentioned the company during a keynote speech at the Actuate robotics conference in San Francisco, but said it was not time to describe it in detail and that it remains in stealth mode. A brief page hosted by Stanford says Dulo is developing foundation models for hardware design.

Google, Naver, Kakao to be required to pre-block illegal filming images from July
The Broadcasting Media and Communications Commission held a briefing session on June 4 to explain measures as preemptive technical and administrative steps to prevent the distribution of illegal filming content expand from video to images. From July 1, about 80 obligated operators must compare and identify whether user posts match videos or images judged as illegal filming content by the Broadcasting Media Deliberation Commission and restrict posting. The list includes Google, X, Meta, Naver and Kakao.

Ex-Google X executive says AI cannot be stopped, three 2020 predictions become reality
Artificial intelligence has entered an irreversible stage of adoption and key forecasts raised a few years ago are becoming reality, an ex-Google X executive said. Mo Gawdat said AI cannot be stopped as countries and companies race to adopt it. He said machines are taking on more decision-making through systems such as recommendations. He also warned of labour-market disruption, risks to information trust and broader social strain driven by how AI is used.
