Selectstar joins Open Telco AI as official partner
Selectstar, an AI data and reliability evaluation company, said on Thursday it has joined the GSMA-launched Open Telco AI as an official partner for data and AI evaluation. The alliance brings together more than 40 companies and institutions including AT&T, AMD and Google Cloud. Selectstar said it will help verify reliability across the ecosystem, support Open Telco Benchmark operations and provide AI reliability assessment and red-teaming services for telecom operators.

Can a 40,000-won ultra-low-cost smartphone work? Manufacturers say costs are hard to bear
A global project to cut smartphone prices to about $40, or roughly 40,000 won, is gaining momentum, with GSMA launching a pilot programme for ultra-low-cost 4G devices. Major African mobile operators will take part across six countries, and GSMA expects 20 million new internet users if it succeeds. Analysts warn parts costs, rising memory prices and import tariffs could hinder production and sustainability without government and financial backing.

Wemade to hold tech seminar on won stablecoin
Wemade said on Thursday it will hold a won stablecoin tech seminar on Jan. 29 at SparkPlus Seolleung Branch 3 in Seoul\'s Gangnam district. The seminar will share practical examples of applying stablecoin infrastructure to legacy finance, fintech and payment systems, with sessions covering compliance, security and regulatory responses. Wemade will also disclose the technical structure of its stablecoin-focused blockchain, Stablenet. It plans to open Stablenet\'s testnet on Jan. 30.
