Corporate restructuring scheme opens path for mid-sized, SMEs into advanced industries
More mid-sized and small companies are entering advanced industries using South Korea’s corporate restructuring scheme. The Industry Ministry panel approved 31 firms in three rounds from December to July, with plans to invest 439.5 billion won over five years and hire 927 people. Many shift existing process technologies into new markets such as semiconductor glass substrates, AR modules and EV components. The ministry is offering investment-attraction consulting, while petrochemicals pursue capacity cuts through separate restructuring projects.

Bottom-up AX results become visible; IT teams\' key role is AX monitoring, not development
Companies are moving faster to help business units develop needed AI services and agents directly, bypassing IT departments. GS Caltex DX Center head Eun Ju Lee (이은주) said the IT function is shifting from building services to measuring, monitoring and helping improve services created in the field. She cited a bottom-up strategy, internal app creation and business results, including growth in Energy Plus app users and ratings.

GS Caltex joins Naver Plus Membership, offering up to 5,000 points a month
Naver said on Thursday that GS Caltex has joined its paid Naver Plus Membership programme as a partner. Since April 23, members can earn 100 won in Naver Pay points per litre when refuelling at GS Caltex stations nationwide, with monthly earnings capped at 5,000 points as a basic benefit. The tie-up also introduces Naver Pay QR to Membership Pass, enabling integrated benefits and payments at partner outlets.
