Fukuoka Airport introduces Level 4 driverless autonomous cargo towing tractor, Japan\'s third
Fukuoka Airport has introduced Level 4 autonomous driving for towing tractors that transport air cargo containers on designated routes within the airport. Japan Airlines and operator Fukuoka International Airport began operations on Oct. 26, running 1.7 km autonomously within a 2.5 km route. The move aims to address labor shortages, automate repetitive transport tasks and improve safety by reducing human error. The airport plans to expand from one vehicle to four by year-end.
