AI chip demand surge drives storage component prices up to 900 percent, storage prices jump

Everpure CEO Charles Giancarlo (찰스 지안카를로) warned customers that the company’s product prices have risen about 70 percent since early 2026, Techzine reported. He attributed the increase to a global semiconductor shortage driven by AI demand. AI servers require far more DRAM and NAND flash than conventional servers, squeezing supply for general-purpose chips used by storage firms. Giancarlo said costs for key components jumped 300 to 900 percent after mid-2025.
