Eutelsat shares jump amid controversy over limits on Ukraine military communications
Shares in French satellite company Eutelsat jumped amid controversy over alleged new restrictions on SpaceX’s Starlink service for the Ukrainian military. CNBC reported the stock rose 19 percent on the day and was up 25 percent over the past five days. Ukraine said connectivity weakened and its defence against Russian attacks was constrained. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Starlink shut off at night, while Elon Musk said responsibility lay with the U.S. government.

SpaceX Starship to try first orbital flight, carrying 26 Starlink V3 satellites
SpaceX’s Starship will attempt to reach Earth orbit for the first time on its 14th test flight, expanding beyond earlier tests focused on launch and flight validation. The mission is expected to lift off from Starbase in Texas during a roughly 75-minute morning window, after U.S. regulators approved the launch and re-entry operations. SpaceX plans to deploy 26 new Starlink V3 satellites, a step tied to Starlink expansion and other planned uses for Starship.

Low-earth-orbit satellite communications: How to use them in the space internet era
Low-earth-orbit satellite communications aim to extend network coverage to areas beyond terrestrial infrastructure, including mountains, islands, open seas and the sky. Unlike geostationary satellites at about 36,000 km altitude, low-earth-orbit satellites operate at about 200 to 2,000 km, reducing latency but requiring large constellations. South Korea has approved cross-border supply deals involving Starlink and Eutelsat OneWeb. The government targets an independent network by 2035 and plans a 300 billion won R&D programme by 2030.
