One in four new cars sold in Australia is an EV; sales jump 117 percent in a year
Electric vehicle adoption is expanding rapidly in Australia, with an average of one EV sold every 100 seconds in the first half of this year. EVs accounted for 25.8 percent of new-car sales, up from 12.1 percent a year earlier, as sales rose 117 percent to 157,957 units. Public charging locations and connectors increased sharply, but rising charging demand and possible road-use charges were cited as uncertainties.
