Asus to raise Q2 PC prices by up to 30 percent on parts supply shortage impact
Asus plans to raise PC selling prices in the second quarter by as much as 30 percent, Taiwan media reported, as sharp increases in memory and SSD prices combine with a CPU supply shortage to push up costs. Other Taiwanese PC brands including Acer, MSI and Gigabyte also plan average price increases of more than 10 percent. Asus executive Liao I-hsiang said parts prices could stay firm in the second half.
