Plug-in solar takes off in U.S., turning apartment balconies into power plants
Small plug-in solar systems that connect to a household power outlet are being legalised across the United States, lowering barriers for residential solar adoption. The system links a small panel with a microinverter to supply power at home and can add a battery for nighttime use or emergency backup during outages. Compared with rooftop solar, plug-in products cost far less and can be installed by consumers. Several states have set rules, while bills in California and New York await signatures.
