Volvo withdraws EX90, ES90 lidar features, offers cash compensation to existing buyers
Volvo is halting development of lidar-based functions for its electric EX90 SUV and ES90 sedan and has begun compensating existing buyers. The vehicles have lidar hardware, but the related software features will not be released. Volvo has ended its partnership with supplier Luminar, a company spokesperson in Norway said. Compensation varies by country, including payments in Norway and cash-equivalent options in the United States, as well as refunds in Europe and Canada.

Honda, Tesla and Volkswagen join EV discontinuation rush in U.S.
Honda has officially confirmed it will end production of the Prologue, its last all-electric model sold in the United States. The move comes as the U.S. EV market faces slowing growth and policy changes, prompting major automakers to scale back EV lineups. Second-quarter U.S. EV sales totalled 247,226 vehicles, or 5.8 percent of new-vehicle sales, data showed. Other automakers have also halted or reduced EV models.

KT applies AI ads to Volvo EX90 campaign, brand searches double
KT said on Tuesday it applied its AI and data-based advertising platform to Volvo’s electric EX90 launch campaign, lifting brand search volume and expanding test-drive sign-ups. The campaign linked KT Square, a large media wall in Gwanghwamun, with KT Genie TV’s Premium G package. KT said it offered a dedicated brand page on Genie TV with vehicle information and content, connected QR codes to test-drive applications, and ran targeted ads based on AI-driven data analysis.
