Korea Post, customs service to expand second line of drug inspections in international mail
Korea Post and the Korea Customs Service on Tuesday agreed to expand a secondary inspection system aimed at blocking drugs entering South Korea via international mail. The programme, piloted at the Dong Seoul Mail Center, will be rolled out to major regions including Busan and the central area. Under the plan, international mail screened at airports will undergo additional detailed customs inspections at mail centers. Drug detections via international mail have fallen in recent years.
