Tesla moves into modular AI data centre hardware with Megapod trademark filing
Tesla is pushing into modular artificial intelligence data centre hardware after filing a trademark for “Megapod” in the United States. The application describes a modular data centre hardware system for AI computing, including servers, networking equipment, power distribution and cooling. Tesla also describes a self-contained modular computing unit with downloadable software for monitoring and optimisation. The move would put Tesla into competition with Nvidia-backed platforms, while Tesla remains a major Nvidia customer and has faced delays in its own AI chip plans.

Musk mobilises Tesla, SpaceX and xAI in \'Terafab\' blueprint
Tesla CEO Elon Musk (일론 머스크) has unveiled plans for Terafab, a large semiconductor manufacturing project involving Tesla, SpaceX and xAI. The facility planned for Austin, Texas is designed as a one-stop plant covering logic, memory, advanced packaging and parts of verification. Musk says it aims to use 2-nanometre technology and process 100,000 wafers a month, while also outlining space-based AI satellites and longer-term plans for lunar industrial bases.

Tesla to build Terafab to make its own AI chips despite zero manufacturing experience
Tesla plans to pursue Terafab, a large chip factory project aimed at producing semiconductors needed for self-driving and AI. Elon Musk said the project would begin within 7 days and is reported to target a 2-nanometre process. Skepticism is growing because Tesla has no chip manufacturing experience, and its earlier 4680 battery plan fell far short of targets. Industry figures also warn advanced chipmaking requires extreme cleanroom standards and deep expertise.
