Dogecoin developers spar over security model, reject claims of Litecoin dependence
Dogecoin developers and the community are arguing over the coin’s merged-mining security model. The dispute centres on whether Dogecoin depends on Litecoin for security or draws it from multiple merged-mined Scrypt-based layer-1 chains. Dogecoin Foundation developer Paulo Vidal questioned reliance on other blockchains, while developer Chromatic X said Dogecoin depends on all merged-mined Scrypt chains. Dogecoin official account says it is a misconception that it has no developers
Dogecoin’s official account has pushed back against a long-running perception that the cryptocurrency has no developers, saying its core development team, foundation and numerous ecosystem projects are continuing work. The message surfaced in response to a question from MyDoge CTO Alex about who is building Dogecoin through market cycles. Dogecoin also pointed to its development history, ongoing open-source maintenance model, and recent ecosystem updates including the Search app and expanded native payments via House of Doge and MoonPay.

Elon Musk says he will send Dogecoin to the moon; will it happen by 2027
Elon Musk (일론 머스크), the head of Tesla, has reaffirmed his pledge to send Dogecoin to the moon and said he plans to carry it out through SpaceX by 2027. The Crypto Basic reported that Musk said the 2021 plan remains valid and responded “Yes” to a post calling the mission inevitable. Market interest has focused on whether SpaceX will execute a crypto-based lunar mission, while Dogecoin posted only a small, short-lived gain.
