Government to inject funds directly into distribution channels with 24 million delivery app coupons, public logistics centres

The government will directly inject fiscal resources into distribution channels in its 2027 budget plan, including delivery apps, gift certificates and agricultural wholesale. Small business support is set to rise to 3.5 trillion won from 2 trillion won in 2026, including a new 124 billion won programme to distribute 24 million 5,000-won discount coupons for a co-prosperity delivery app. The plan also expands local and Onnuri gift certificates, boosts traditional market support and funds a public logistics and distribution structure for agricultural, livestock and fisheries products.

Mobile number porting tops 600,000 for second straight month; SKT posts largest net gain

Mobile number porting in South Korea totaled 635,361 cases last month, staying above 600,000 for a second straight month, data from the Korea Telecommunications Operators Association showed. The figure was slightly lower than the previous month’s 641,932. SK Telecom posted the largest net subscriber gain at 3,887, while LG Uplus added 1,594. KT lost 3,586 subscribers, and budget carriers shed 1,895.

Samsung store visitors up 75 percent, Samsung.com up more than 200 percent

Samsung Electronics said its large-scale discount event is nearing its final stage, drawing shoppers to stores nationwide. Average visitors to Samsung Stores rose 75 percent from a year earlier, with some locations doubling. Samsung.com visitors increased more than 200 percent. The promotion runs at about 1,000 online and offline outlets, including roughly 400 Samsung Stores. Buyers receive digital vouchers worth 20 percent of purchases, or 30 percent for uniformed public officials.
