Digg cuts staff, shuts app after losing war against AI spam
Digg, once a popular link-sharing site, has carried out mass layoffs and is shutting down its app, TechCrunch reported on March 13. The company is not closing, and co-founder Kevin Rose said he plans to refocus on running Digg while keeping an adviser role at Tru Ventures. Digg said it struggled with AI bots and spam, and with competition from existing community platforms.
