Robinhood to offer crypto, stock trading and custody in Dubai, eyes Middle East push in 2027
Robinhood Markets has received approval from the Dubai Financial Services Authority to provide trading in cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin and in stocks, as well as digital asset custody, in the Middle East. The approval covers retail trading and custody across 10 asset classes including bitcoin, other cryptocurrencies, stocks, ETFs and investment tokens. Robinhood plans to set up a base in the Dubai International Financial Centre in 2027 to launch services across the Middle East and North Africa.

Deutsche Bank is preparing to launch a cryptocurrency custody service in Germany and is considering expanding the business to Asian financial hubs in 2027. The bank plans to broaden its custody operations in line with growth in the digital asset economy. Corporate Bank co-head Gerald Podobnik cited rapid expansion in digital assets, with hundreds of billions of dollars tied up in stablecoins, as a key driver.

Eutelsat shares jump amid controversy over limits on Ukraine military communications
Shares in French satellite company Eutelsat jumped amid controversy over alleged new restrictions on SpaceX’s Starlink service for the Ukrainian military. CNBC reported the stock rose 19 percent on the day and was up 25 percent over the past five days. Ukraine said connectivity weakened and its defence against Russian attacks was constrained. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Starlink shut off at night, while Elon Musk said responsibility lay with the U.S. government.
