Why AI model Jev that judges and decides instead of chatting is drawing attention
TypeSafe AI, founded by former OpenAI staff, has released Jev, an AI model it calls a System 1 model. Unlike traditional large language models, Jev does not generate text and instead makes decisions in workflows. Daniel Shea and Seán Roche of LangChain published an analysis focusing on agent evaluation. In tests, Jev matched human scores in 500 of 500 judgments and showed the smallest score variance, while also running faster and cheaper than other models.

LangChain CEO says AI agents hinge on context engineering
LangChain co-founder and CEO Harrison Chase said harness engineering is a key task in developing AI agents. Chase said harness engineering extends context engineering and that the trend is to give models more control over what they see. He cited AutoGPT as an early example that faded because models could not run loops reliably.
