Mirae Asset Securities New York unit joins DTCC tokenization service

Mirae Asset Securities said on Oct. 30 its New York unit, Mirae Asset Securities (USA) Inc., signed an agreement to use DTCC’s Tokenization Service, or DTS. The service was officially launched on Oct. 28 by DTCC depository unit DTC. Mirae Asset’s New York unit is among 20 financial firms that signed usage agreements at launch. Early participants include JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Citi and Fidelity.

DTCC begins live securities tokenisation trading with 40 firms including JPMorgan

U.S. securities settlement group DTCC has started operating a securities tokenisation service in live markets, covering assets including Microsoft shares and U.S. Treasuries. DTCC plans a July pilot limited to about 1,000 instruments before expanding to full availability around October. The service, developed by its depository DTC, lets participants use tokenised assets for collateral transfers, repo transactions and stock trades, with settlement on either Hyperledger Besu or the Canton Network.
