Anthropic raises $65 billion in Series H round, valuation rises to $965 billion
Anthropic raised $65 billion in a Series H funding round, lifting its valuation to $965 billion. TechCrunch reported the fundraising is likely to be the company’s last financing before an IPO. The round was co-led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, Sequoia Capital, Capital Group, Coatue and D1 Capital Partners, with other institutional investors participating. Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron also joined. Anthropic said it will use the funds to expand safety and interpretability research, increase computing and expand products and partnerships.

Ricursive raises $300 million in Series A, says AI cuts chip design time
AI-based chip design startup Ricursive Intelligence has raised $300 million in Series A funding, SiliconANGLE reported on Jan. 26 local time. The round was led by Lightspeed, with Nvidia’s NVentures, DST Global and Felicis Ventures also taking part. Ricursive was valued at $4 billion in the deal. The company develops AI tools aimed at sharply reducing chip design times and plans to use the funds for hiring and infrastructure upgrades.

Healthcare AI startup OpenEvidence raises $250 million, valued at $12 billion
Healthcare AI startup OpenEvidence raised $250 million in funding, boosting its valuation to $12 billion, SiliconANGLE reported on Jan. 21 local time. Thrive Capital and DST Global participated. OpenEvidence said its valuation has risen more than tenfold since its first funding round last year. The company provides a ChatGPT-style research tool for clinicians that searches medical journals and suggests diagnosis and treatment options. It also supports medical education and plans additional apps.
