AI-based chip design startup Ricursive Intelligence has raised $300 million in Series A funding, SiliconANGLE reported on Jan. 26 local time.
The investment was led by Lightspeed. Nvidia (엔비디아) NVentures, DST Global and Felicis Ventures also took part. The funding valued Ricursive at $4 billion.
Ricursive, co-founded by former Google researchers Anna Goldie and Azalia Mirhoseini, has been developing solutions aimed at sharply cutting chip design speed using AI.
The co-founders developed Google’s AI chip design system AlphaChip in 2020 and took part in a project to speed the design of TPU accelerators.
Ricursive trains an AI model similar to AlphaChip to support the design of data center AI accelerators. Conventional chip design takes years, but AlphaChip can design some semiconductor components in 6 hours, SiliconANGLE said.
Ricursive plans to use the funds to expand its engineering and research teams and upgrade infrastructure for training AI models.
