Stage Five acquires Loflat to combine location technology with telecom services
Stage Five has acquired AI location data specialist Loflat and will move to develop new businesses. The company said on Sept. 2 it secured Loflat’s shares through a comprehensive share swap and will make it a subsidiary. Loflat will maintain its existing business structure after the acquisition. Stage Five plans to apply Loflat’s location technology to its telecom services, including its budget phone brand Pindirect, to improve service quality and develop new services.

Kakao Mobility operating profit rises for third straight year as profitability improves
Kakao Mobility kept its operating profit rising for a third consecutive year, according to its business report. It reported 2025 annual sales of 739.3 billion won and operating profit of 115.5 billion won, up 9.5 percent and 24.2 percent, respectively, from a year earlier. The operating margin improved to 15.6 percent. Platform services drove growth, while net profit rose 78.0 percent and accumulated losses and debt fell.

Kakao Mobility to showcase media art at Seoul Station
Kakao Mobility said on Wednesday it has signed a business agreement with District to cooperate on next-generation digital out-of-home advertising using a large panorama screen at Seoul Station. The partners plan to jointly develop an outdoor advertising business model combining Kakao Mobility’s advertising platform technology with District’s media art content. They will show six District works on the screen for one year starting in April.
