Perplexity unveils \'Portable Computer\', steps up push for local AI agent platform
Perplexity unveiled “Portable Computer,” a local version of its AI agent platform “Computer,” VentureBeat reported on Aug. 25 local time. The product runs on Linux devices with Nvidia DGX Spark and RTX GPUs. Perplexity worked closely with Nvidia on development. Models, user files and outputs stay on-device, and local processing does not consume billing credits. Tasks start on-device and require user approval before moving to cloud frontier models.

Nvidia unveils four new products ahead of earnings, focusing on token generation speed
Nvidia unveiled new AI inference accelerators and network infrastructure products at Hot Chips 2026 in the United States on Aug. 25, a day before its second-quarter earnings. The company said interactive inference accelerator Nvidia Grok 3 LPX has entered mass production, alongside Spectrum-X Multiplane Ethernet scaling and ScaleIn infrastructure acceleration technology. The announcements focused on inference, particularly token generation speed, and also highlighted inference speed, network scalability and agent-focused CPUs within the Vera Rubin platform.

Akamai teams up with Nvidia to embed zero trust security in AI factories
Akamai Technologies said on Wednesday it is working with Nvidia to introduce a security architecture for AI factories. The companies will integrate Akamai Guardicore Segmentation into Nvidia\'s Vera BlueField-4 STX storage architecture, which runs on the Nvidia DOCA software platform. Akamai said the partnership aims to embed a zero trust architecture as a default layer in AI factories to help enterprises protect data, context memory and autonomous agents.
