CrowdStrike to buy ID security firm SGNL for $740 million
Cloud-based security company CrowdStrike will acquire identity management startup SGNL for $740 million, CNBC reported on Wednesday. CrowdStrike said the deal will allow users of its Falcon cloud security platform to manage access requests from people and AI more effectively. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of fiscal 2027. CEO George Kurtz said the deal offers a chance to innovate in the identity market while providing strong protection.

Cybersecurity M&A hit record high in 2025, set to accelerate in 2026
Cybersecurity mergers and acquisitions hit an all-time high in 2025, with a more aggressive climate expected in 2026, a report said. Total deal value reached $102 billion, up 294 percent from a year earlier, while the number of transactions rose 21 percent to 398. The second quarter set a record for deal count, and the third quarter posted the largest quarterly value. AI security led investment activity.

Big firms heat up M&A in global security market at start of year
Merger-and-acquisition activity led by major players is picking up in the global security market at the start of the year. SiliconAngle, citing Israeli outlet Calcalist, reported Palo Alto Networks is pursuing Israeli cybersecurity startup Koi Security in a deal valued at about $400 million. Separately, Calcalist reported Cisco is seeking to buy security asset-management startup Axonius for about $2 billion, though Axonius said it has not held acquisition talks with Cisco.
