Why South Korea\'s privacy watchdog hit Coupang with a record fine
South Korea\'s Personal Information Protection Commission imposed a 624.7 billion won penalty and a 16.8 million won fine on Coupang over a large-scale personal data leak last November and the collection of personal information without legal grounds. The watchdog said the fine equals 2 percent of sales used in its calculation. South Korea\'s Personal Information Protection Commission imposed a record 624.7 billion won fine on Coupang over a large-scale personal data breach reported in November last year. It also levied a 16.8 million won penalty. The commission fined Coupang Fulfillment Services 248 million won for violations involving collection and use of personal data and limits on processing sensitive data. The regulator said about 37.5 million people were affected and ordered corrective steps.

Coupang holds first logistics centre job fair of year in Suwon and Daegu
Coupang Fulfillment Services (CFS) said on Wednesday it will hold its first job fair of the year. CFS will hold recruitment events in Suwon on March 24 and in Daegu on March 26 to hire on-site logistics workers and logistics managers. About 20 fulfilment centres in the southern Seoul metropolitan area will take part in the Suwon event, while five centres in Daegu and Gyeongsan will join the Daegu fair.
