Solana\'s next-generation consensus overhaul, Alpenglow, has started running on a community test cluster. The move lets validator operators test the new consensus software in conditions close to a live network before any mainnet rollout. The update aims to verify whether Solana can move to a faster structure, potentially cutting transaction finality from seconds to near real time. Developers are also testing the transition process, dubbed Alpenswitch.

Arthur Hayes (아서 헤이즈) said most altcoins could see their value drift toward zero over the long term, calling it a natural cycle rather than the end of the crypto market. Speaking at Consensus Miami 2026, he compared the process to churn in the S&P 500 and said crypto moves faster due to 24/7 trading and low barriers. He also said fiat money supply is the key driver of bitcoin prices.
