Solana co-founder says Alpenglow upgrade could launch as early as Q3
Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko said the blockchain’s major Alpenglow upgrade could be released as early as the third quarter this year, CoinDesk reported on May 5. Speaking at Consensus Miami 2026, he called it an interesting stage in the protocol’s evolution. The upgrade focuses on making Solana faster, more predictable and safer by improving how the network agrees on transaction ordering and speeding up finality toward the physical limits of information travel.
