Anthropic begins talks to lease Meta computing power
Anthropic is in early-stage talks on a plan to lease computing power from Meta Platforms, CNBC reported on Thursday. The potential deal is being discussed at about $10 billion. After the report, Meta shares rebounded from an intraday low. The talks come as Anthropic expands efforts to secure external infrastructure and continues large contracts to access Nvidia AI chips, while Meta separately reviews entering the cloud computing business.

GE Vernova gas turbines sold out through 2029 amid surging AI power demand

GE Vernova, one of the world’s largest gas turbine makers, says orders for large gas turbines are effectively filled through 2029. Major hyperscalers are expanding adoption of industrial turbines to secure reliable electricity as grid connections face delays. GE Vernova is increasing production capacity and hiring in South Carolina.
