Amazon to buy an additional 2 million Nvidia GPUs for AWS data centers
Amazon will add 2 million Nvidia GPUs to Amazon Web Services data centers as it accelerates infrastructure expansion to meet surging AI computing demand. Amazon and Nvidia plan to deploy Blackwell Ultra, Rubin and Rubin Ultra GPUs across AWS infrastructure in 2027 and 2028. The deal also includes networking gear, open models, CPUs, data software and robotics platforms. Financial terms were not disclosed, though some expect tens of billions of dollars.

Nvidia to invest an additional $18 billion this year in AI models and infrastructure
Nvidia plans to deploy $18 billion in equity investments over the remainder of its fiscal year, stepping up commitments focused on AI model developers, infrastructure financing firms and other private companies. It disclosed the commitments in its earnings report. As of late July, its holdings tied to private companies rose to $47.9 billion from $22.3 billion at the prior fiscal year-end. The company has also invested in power and land for data centers and joined efforts to raise more than $500 billion for AI infrastructure.

Nvidia Q2 net profit $59.7 billion, up 126 percent year on year
Nvidia posted fiscal 2027 second-quarter revenue of $96.2 billion and net profit of $59.7 billion, beating market expectations. Revenue rose 106 percent and net profit gained 126 percent from a year earlier, while gross margin increased to 75 percent. Data center revenue climbed to $89.0 billion, above a Bloomberg-compiled estimate. Nvidia forecast next-quarter revenue of $108.0 billion, plus or minus 2 percent, and said the outlook excludes China data center computing revenue.
