Canadian EV buyers wait for more Chinese models, survey shows
Four in 10 Canadian consumers considering an electric vehicle said they could delay buying until more Chinese-made options are available, a survey commissioned by Clean Energy Canada showed. The poll found 42 percent of prospective buyers were willing to wait for Chinese EV launches. Canada has moved to lower import barriers, replacing a 100 percent surcharge with a quota allowing 49,000 vehicles a year at 6.1 percent tariff from March.
