Anthropic launches in-house AI drug discovery program to target neglected diseases
Anthropic has launched an internal drug discovery program as part of its strategy to develop AI tools for pharmaceutical companies. The company plans to prioritise treatments for neglected diseases that traditional biopharmaceutical firms have not viewed as attractive targets. At an event in San Francisco, life sciences head Eric Kauderer-Abrams said Anthropic needs firsthand experience in drug development to build better models, products and tools. The company has also launched Claude Science.
