Lotte Wellfood appoints Seo Jeong-ho as new CEO, eyes global market expansion
Lotte Wellfood held its ninth annual general meeting of shareholders at its headquarters in Seoul on Thursday, it said. Shareholders representing 88.3 percent of voting shares attended. The meeting appointed CEO-designate Seo Jeong-ho as a new inside director. The company said it plans to accelerate global expansion and strengthen competitiveness, focusing on India by expanding Choco Pie capacity and stabilising its new Pune plant.

Profit divide for Orion and Lotte Wellfood hinges on chocolate dependence
Orion and Lotte Wellfood posted higher consolidated sales last year from a year earlier, but their operating profit results diverged, industry officials said. Orion’s operating profit rose 2.7 percent, while Lotte Wellfood’s fell 30.3 percent. Both cited higher raw material costs, particularly a surge in cocoa prices. Orion’s core products are snacks, biscuits and pies, while Lotte Wellfood relies more on chocolate products such as Ghana and Pepero.

Orion 2025 sales rise 7.3 percent; Russia revenue tops 300 billion won
Orion said on Wednesday it posted 2025 consolidated sales of 3.33 trillion won and operating profit of 558.2 billion won, up 7.3 percent and 2.7 percent from a year earlier. It said growth in pie product sales in Russia and India led results, while higher raw material prices and a weaker currency raised costs. The company outlined expansion plans across Russia, India, South Korea, China and Vietnam.
