iM Financial launches process to pick next chairman, final candidate due in December

iM Financial Group has started its management succession process to select its next chief executive. It plans to strengthen fairness and transparency by evaluating internal and external candidates under the same criteria and involving outside experts in verification. The chairman candidate recommendation committee set four selection principles and will run a three-stage process. It aims to pick a long list by late October, finalize a short list by late November and recommend a final candidate in December.

Lee Jae-geun, KB chairman candidate, backs decentralised system-based management, proactive AI and digital response

Lee Jae-geun (이재근), KB Financial Group’s chairman candidate, said he wants a decentralised organisation run by systems and processes rather than concentrated presidential authority. He said the next 3 to 5 years will be critical for responding to changes such as AI, digital transformation, money flows centred on capital markets and ageing. Lee also said year-end personnel decisions will not treat generational change as age-based, and that key appointments should follow established board systems.
