Using a MacBook while plugged in is generally OK, but other factors decide battery life
Recent MacBooks generally do not see a big impact on battery life from being used while connected to power, as charging is managed automatically using lithium batteries and software, Engadget reported. MacBooks adjust charging based on temperature history, charging patterns and power fluctuations, and can reduce maximum charge to limit wear. Apple’s battery health management is enabled by default on supported systems. Heat and long-term storage charge levels can affect battery performance more.
