Douzone Bizon, Techfin Ratings and KAIST paper on AI transaction-network credit scoring model accepted by CIKM
Douzone Bizon said on Aug. 20 that a paper it co-authored with Techfin Ratings and a research team led by KAIST professor Chan-young Park was accepted by the ACM International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM). The study develops an AI-based transaction-network credit scoring model, DefaultGNN. It quantitatively analyzes client-network information that traditional models did not cover, using variables such as counterparties, transaction types, shares and business closures to quantify hidden risks.

Fintech hot issue: AI services spread across finance as BNPL market expands
Financial companies including major banks are introducing a growing range of AI-based services, raising questions about whether consumers will see tangible benefits. Shinhan Bank launched an OpenAI GPT-based export document screening service, while KakaoBank and Toss Bank expanded AI offerings. The Export-Import Bank of Korea plans to invest 20 trillion won over five years to support domestic AI firms. Overseas, U.S. BNPL payments hit records during the year-end shopping season, Adobe Analytics data showed.

KakaoBank papers accepted at global AI conferences
KakaoBank said its Financial Technology Research Institute had consecutive papers accepted at international AI and data science conferences. The bank presented methods to accelerate explainable AI and built a Korean-language financial information retrieval benchmark dataset. It said the work addresses explainability in AI models and accuracy in Korean financial context processing, demonstrating international competitiveness.
