[DigitalToday Lee Ji-young] KakaoBank said on Thursday it had received consecutive recognition for its research achievements at international conferences in the fields of AI and data science.
KakaoBank’s Financial Technology Research Institute recently presented innovative research results at CIKM 2025 and ICAIF 2025. The work included methodologies to accelerate explainable AI, or XAI, and the construction of a finance-specific Korean-language information retrieval benchmark dataset.
The research in particular presented solutions to two core challenges in financial AI: securing explainability of AI models and improving accuracy in processing Korean financial contexts.
KakaoBank said the consecutive recognition at global conferences shows its AI technology already has competitiveness by international standards. It said it would continue research and development to enhance the reliability and convenience of financial services and introduce innovative financial technologies that customers can experience.
