Yoo Young-sang, former chief executive of SK Telecom, received about 3.4 billion won in pay last year, according to the company’s 2025 business report. His total compensation was 3.41 billion won, including 1.54 billion won in salary and 1.82 billion won in bonuses, plus about 47 million won in welfare benefits. CEO Jung Jae-heon received 2.079 billion won in total compensation.

Securities firms expand risk capital beyond venture investment to productive and inclusive finance
South Korea\'s securities industry is expanding risk capital raised through integrated investment management accounts (IMA) and short-term notes, broadening deployment beyond venture investment. Financial authorities require brokers to supply risk capital equivalent to 25 percent of such funding, with the ratio rising to 10 percent in 2026, 20 percent in 2027 and 25 percent in 2028. Firms are allocating money across venture fund commitments, strategic industries, project finance and emergency operating support.

Woori Investment Securities leads 50.2 billion won financing for offshore wind infrastructure
Woori Investment Securities said on Feb. 27 it will support what it called “productive finance” by helping secure installation and transport vessels for key substructure works at a 50 billion won domestic offshore wind power project. The firm completed the lead role for the acquisition of the offshore wind installation vessel Nuri Baram by Woori Technology and CGO. The vessel is to be deployed on major domestic offshore wind projects, starting with the Sinan Ui project.
