AI safety differs from security; Korean-style technology can be competitive
AI safety should be approached through a separate evaluation framework, not as an extension of cyber security, Selectstar\'s AI safety team lead Kim Min-woo said. He cited risks such as hallucinations, hate, bias and harmfulness in generative AI. He said AI red-teaming tests models for unintended or harmful outputs, and that benchmarks must reflect local culture and goals. He also said AI agents using databases, RAG and plugins add complexity.

Hancom Lifecare strikes series of partnerships with French defense and robotics firms
Hancom Lifecare, a Hancom Group affiliate specialising in defense and safety equipment, signed a series of strategic partnerships with French companies. At Eurosatory 2026 in Paris, it signed an MOU with CBRN protection firm OUVRY SAS and an additional agreement with unmanned ground robot maker Shark Robotics. The OUVRY deal focuses on CBRN personal protective equipment for South Korea’s defense market, while cooperation with Shark Robotics will expand from firefighting to defense unmanned ground systems.

Hancom Lifecare partners with France\'s Shark Robotics to enter unmanned firefighting robot business
Hancom Lifecare said on Wednesday it signed a strategic business agreement with French unmanned ground vehicle company Shark Robotics related to the South Korean market. The company said it plans to expand beyond its existing safety equipment manufacturing capabilities into robot-based intelligent safety solutions. It will introduce Shark Robotics\' COLOSSUS and Rhyno Protect models, which can be remotely controlled and fitted with modular equipment including water cannons, smoke exhaust fans, stretchers and CBRN reconnaissance sensors.
