China removes 14,000 AI products in sweeping cleanup amid race for AI dominance
China has begun a broad overhaul of artificial intelligence services, removing about 14,000 products from domestic networks for failing safety standards and regulatory requirements. Regulators also deleted more than 6 million items of illegal or harmful information and suspended over 26,000 accounts. Authorities are tightening pre-registration and safety obligations for AI services and preparing a second enforcement phase targeting misinformation, impersonation and other abuses. New rules on AI companion services take effect from July 15.

Stage Five says 2025 sales 111.2 billion won; seeks IPO as full MVNO
Stage Five is pushing for an initial public offering by shifting to an AI-based telecommunications platform and converting into a full MVNO, it said. Its digital MVNO service Findairect is sustaining net subscriber growth in the mobile number portability market, and the company said applying AI agents cut customer acquisition and service costs by 10 percent. Stage Five posted 2025 sales of 111.2 billion won, up 282 percent, while operating loss narrowed to about 500 million won.

Apple removes Jack Dorsey\'s P2P messenger Bitchat from China App Store
Apple has removed Jack Dorsey (잭 도시)\'s decentralised peer-to-peer messenger Bitchat from its China App Store and halted its TestFlight beta in the country, following a request from the Cyberspace Administration of China. Dorsey posted Apple’s notice on X. Apple reiterated that apps must comply with local laws and that developers are responsible for meeting legal requirements. Authorities cited concerns about opinion formation and social mobilisation under 2018 rules requiring security reviews.
